As a Practice Manager for the Seas, you will join a dedicated group of professionals working to provide excellent health care for the Animals, Science, and Environment (ASE) at Walt Disney World. You will join a team of 11 Veterinarians and 24 Animal Care, Veterinary Technician, Medical Records, and Administrative Staff. Our Mission is to lead, care, connect, and conserve. You will report to the Veterinarian Operations Manager. For more than 25 years, the Disney Animal Health Team constantly strives to be a leader in medical care for zoo and aquarium animals. Responsibilities/You Will:

  • Supervise the Seas Hospital team and provide oversight for veterinary technicians working at the Seas

  • Lead all aspects of the Seas Hospital operation, including safety, inventory, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance

  • Collaborate with the Disney Animal Health leadership team, as well as with other teams including Animal Husbandry, Behavioral Husbandry, Nutrition, Water Sciences, Guest Animal Experience, and Science Teams

  • Serve as managerial point of contact for off-site Disney aquatic animal health programs

  • Promote team involvement in guest experience and education

  • Possess a commitment to excellence in animal health care and communication of The Walt Disney Company’s conservation message to Guests and Cast Members

Basic Qualifications/You Have:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician

  • 3 years of aquatic and/or zoological facility experience with knowledge in day-to-day function and nursing care in a veterinary hospital

  • Florida licensure or be qualified to apply for Florida licensure

  • A knowledge base of veterinary nursing and veterinary practice management and/or leadership

  • Ability to triage and adapt in a constantly evolving work environment

  • Proficiency in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a Windows environment and other technologies or programs including ZIMS medical

  • Schedule availability may include weekends, variable shifts, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

It would be great if you also had...

  • 3+ years’ experience working at an AZA-accredited facility

  • Breadth of veterinary experience with different animal taxa, emphasis on strong aquatic expertise

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Graduation from an accredited veterinary technology school (Minimum 2-year program)
